Luxury Waterfront Estate Just Listed on Little Torch Key in The Florida Keys

Little Torch is one of those places locals know and most visitors drive right past. It is quiet, it is residential, and the water around it is some of the best in the entire island chain. Looe Key Reef is out front, Picnic Island is a short boat ride away, and Little Palm Island, one of the most exclusive resorts in the country, keeps its shore station right here.
733-743 Trinidad Lane is exactly the kind of property buyers come to the Lower Keys looking for and rarely find: open water, real dockage, real elbow room, and a home built to handle life in the Keys.
What makes this Florida Keys waterfront estate different?
It is two lots, not one. In the Lower Keys, most waterfront homes sit on a single lot with neighbors close on both sides. Trinidad Lane gives you the home, the pool, the beach, and the dock across nearly 17,000 square feet of fully fenced, irrigated, professionally landscaped grounds.
And it is open water, not a canal. The view from the living room runs straight out across the water, and the boat ride to the reef is minutes, not a long idle down a canal.
The double lot also comes with something buyers cannot manufacture in Monroe County today: a ROGO letter (more on why that matters below).
What is it like inside the home?
A major renovation and addition was completed in 2016, so this is not a dated 1980s Keys house. A vaulted wood ceiling in the living room frames water views that carry through the living room, kitchen, and dining area.
The kitchen features custom Hansen & Bringle cabinetry, built right here in Key West, with stainless steel appliances and quartz countertops. Recent updates include new central air, fresh interior and exterior paint, a newly screened outdoor dining area, and a carport refinished with three coats of epoxy.

The home is being offered fully furnished, with the exception of personal items and a few select pieces of art. That makes it about as close to move-in ready as waterfront in the Keys gets.
At 1,636 square feet, the home lives much larger than the number suggests, because so much of daily life happens outside.

What is the outdoor living like?
This is where Trinidad Lane really shines. The yard is the house.
Private sandy beach for launching kayaks and paddleboards
Saltwater pool, heated and chilled, so it is comfortable in January and in August
Outdoor tiki kitchen with a built-in grill and bar, perfect for cooking the day's catch
Screened dining area and a rooftop deck
Enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water
An orchid garden and lush tropical landscaping on a full sprinkler system
Landscape lighting across the yard, the dock, and the water beneath it
If you like to entertain, this is a home where friends come over for a swim and end up staying for dinner by the water.

Can you keep a boat at 733-743 Trinidad Lane?
Yes, and this is a true boater's property. The 53-foot composite dock has a 16,000 pound boat lift, electric and fresh water, a lighted fish cleaning station, and a swim ladder. No marina bill, no waitlist, and no trailer trip to the ramp. (There is also a community boat ramp in the neighborhood, plus RV and boat trailer parking with an electric hookup on the property.)
From this dock, some of the best water in the Keys is minutes away by boat:
Looe Key Reef, part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and one of the most famous snorkel and dive spots in the country
Picnic Island and Newfound Harbor, local favorites for sandbar days
The backcountry flats for bonefish, permit, and tarpon
Little Palm Island, where dinner is a boat ride away
Control depth is listed at about 3 feet, which suits the boats most Lower Keys owners run here, like flats skiffs, bay boats, and shallow-draft center consoles, especially with the lift keeping the hull out of the water. If you are bringing a larger, deeper-draft boat, let's talk about it early so we find the right fit.

How is the home built for hurricanes and flood?
Insurance is the first question every Keys buyer asks, and this home has good answers. It is CBS construction elevated above flood, under a metal roof, with impact-resistant windows and doors throughout from the 2016 renovation.
Those are the exact features underwriters look at when they price wind and flood coverage. The property is in flood zone AE, so plan for flood insurance from the start, and ask us for the elevation certificate and wind mitigation report so your insurance agent can quote early. If you are new to Keys insurance, my post Things to Know About Insurance Before You Buy in the Florida Keys walks through it.
The grounds are fully fenced, with covered parking, a shed and storage, and RV and trailer parking.
Why does a ROGO letter matter in the Florida Keys?
Because the right to build a new home in Monroe County is rationed. Under the Rate of Growth Ordinance (ROGO), new residential units in unincorporated Monroe County need a building allocation, and those allocations are tied to hurricane evacuation limits.
Here is where things stand in late 2026:
The final quarter for the current pool of market rate ROGO allocations closed July 13, 2026.
The county has said the next allocation period is expected to open July 13, 2027, but the code changes are still working through public hearings and state approval.
New state law caps any additional allocations at 900 Keys-wide, spread over at least 10 years, with priority for owner-occupied, affordable, and workforce housing.
Repairing or replacing an existing home is exempt from ROGO, which is one reason an existing elevated home holds its value.
So when a property offers an existing home plus a double lot with a ROGO letter that points to the potential for an additional home or pool house, that is something a buyer simply cannot recreate later. Whether you dream of a guest house for family someday or just want to know you control the land next door, that second lot is the long game.
As with any building rights question, verify the details with Monroe County Planning and your own attorney. We are happy to share the letter.
